“Humans thrive well when they move, play and connect. In our knowledge based and performance driven society people have shifted away from all of that on a fundamental level. During my Movement Therapy sessions I focus on reconnecting with what is basically human and forge it into something that is useful and practical in daily life. With my clients I look at their specific goals and during movement situations we create awareness for the skills that are fundamental to obtain those objectives.
The knowledge that I have obtained with Fighting Monkey helps me to use a broad repertoire of exercises and perspectives to reach their personal goals. It has also provided me with a framework to dive into the philosophical fundament of people in current day society. By moving the body I teach them how to co-create their surrounding, become aware of their and capabilities and learn them how to better attune themselves to their day-to-day situation. With the Spatverandert method on top of that I can analyse personal situations, create custom goals and apply practical tools to make my clients develop at a personal and professional level.”
Mobility
If you want to feel fit, you need a body that can work in different conditions an adapt to all kinds of situations. Essential therefore are strong and flexible joints, muscles and ligaments. Mobility work can be seen as vitamin C for your body and enables your body to move free and safe through your moving life. There fore I consider mobility as one of the main pillars of my trainings. I use a wide variety of trainings methods, but central is the method of Function Range Conditioning® developed by dr. Andreo Spina.

Strength
To be able to move it is essential to have strong muscles that propel your body into motion. These muscles should be powerful for explosive outbursts, tough to endure long periods of activity and big enough to support your body weight in a wide arrange of positions. I prefer to train muscles in a functional way, as to support movement and being able to lift, roll, brachiate, jump, crawl, dodge, throw, punch, kick and do whatever with it that you want. To achieve this, I integrate strengthening exercises inspired by Gymnastics, Olympic Lifting, Callisthenics, Capoeira, Cross Fit, Martial Arts, Movement and Kick boxing.

Skills
Dominance over your body and other objects is one of the most liberating feelings there is. Besides that, it is a perfect way to keep your body fit, healthy and strong without even noticing that you’re are actually working out. Recent studies have shown that the process of exploring and practicing new movement patterns is incredibly healthy for your brains and even stimulates the growth of new cells and neuromuscular connections. Skill training includes for example jumping, balancing, rolling, handstands, backbends and rope climbing, but also solving movement riddles and working out in game like situations.

Health
Health and movement for me are synonyms. You cannot be healthy without a healthy body. And a healthy body needs a nutritious movement pattern. This means a good balance between going out of your comfort zone, high intensity training, and strain on muscles and joints at one hand, and giving it rest, good nutrition and relaxation at the other hand. Central is that you work from the inside out and always do what is good for you as a human being. Not only now, but also further down the hill.

About me
My approach is to teach people how to move in a healthy and responsible way, achieve their personal goals and connect with themselves and their bodies. As I grew up, meaningful movement experiences have had a significant impact on me as a person. My goal is to pass these experiences, the knowledge I have about movement, health, nutrition, mobility and longevity to others.
I studied Martial Arts and especially Capoeira for a great deal of time. Since a couple of years I started to study movement and mobility inspired by specialists like Ido Portal, Rafe Kelley and Tomislav English. Through the theories and methods of Dr. Andreo Spina and Kit Laughlin I became aware of the importance of mobility and joint health. I am still learning though, and keep on collecting new knowledge and movement experiences along the way.
I give FRC mobility, movement, Capoeira and crosstrainings as well as private sessions to my 1 to 1 students and small group trainings at Het Gymlokaal in Amsterdam. Besides that I provide fundamental and educative movement experiences to kids on two primary schools in Amsterdam as a physical educator. I furthermore have a Bsc. and Msc. degree in social science that helps me understand societal habits and integrate those understandings in my training schedules and approaches.
Nijmegen
For me "Het Gymlokaal" is the perfect place to teach and train. It has two training areas: one more classical high school gym space with wall racks, rings, yoga mats, parkour material and another that has all the regular gym equipment together with a kick box area and a monkey bar. In short, all the equipment you need for a kick ass workout and nutritious movement training. Besides that it has a unique warm ambiance that is very different than your regular neighborhood gym. Depending on the weather conditions and training goals it is also possible that we use the green grass and the trees of the neighboring Rembrandt park.
